Renegade 10 - Concept Sketch - Tough Questions for the Sherrif

while researching for Renegade 10, i came across an entry for Nellie Bly at wikipedia. very cool! i now have an inspiration for the reporter character. also, she has a name now. Millicent "Millie" Laura Mayes will get the pen name "Virginia Dann" from one of the editors at the paper. i have a feeling that her stubborness will earn her the unpleasant nickname "damn Virginia" around the newsroom. her overall design, however, is up in the air.
this is about how i picture her though, making a local sherrif very uncomfortable in her own stubborn way.
the sherrif needs lots of work! i suck at drawing guys.

I think the main goal of the picture was conveyed by the mannerisms of the Sheriff. His nervousness is pretty clearly shown, shame to ruffle such a fine hat though.

well, i suck at drawing cowboy hats, so having him ruffle the hat was cheating a bit, but it worked.

i need lots of drawing practice before this comic is ready for primetime.

i saw your skblog on jocelyncee's friend's page and liked what i saw. you have a very nice style. i like the fantasy elements you do on the WoW drawings. you're coloring things in digitally right? are you using a wacom?

i have a wacom, yeah. i use opencanvas 1.1 for sketching things on it. otherwise its pencil :D

I like it. Maybe have him pulling at his bandana with one finger.
that just says 'uncomfortable' to me.
but then again, you're the artist. and I have a paper to prove it.
