firdalaen - early start

Firdalaen started as a hero while still a "fledge," i.e. a child. so, this is a portrait of him from that time, when the Empty Ones first emerged and the city of Ehnley fell.

i normally hate seeing characters wielding swords bigger than they can possibly carry (unless it's an FF game or somthing.) but not to worry here. the blade is not made of metal, but of light. so, it's not heavy at all, in fact, it's light. (yes, i know...bad pun, kit! no doughnut! edit: another reason for the huge sword is to emphasize his own child-like stature at the time. the sword will be like a sweater bought a couple sizes too big-he'll grow into it.
